Universal Manager / Installer Privacy Policy
Effective Date: Aug 19, 2025
Smartago LLC (hereafter referred to as “Smartago“) is a software development company dedicated to creating innovative and secure applications for a variety of users. Our mission is to develop solutions that empower individuals and organizations while upholding the highest standards of privacy and security.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how the Universal Manager / Installer app (“the App”) collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our service. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a safe and transparent experience.
2. Information We Collect
Our App is designed to be privacy-friendly. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) from your device. However, to understand the App’s performance and usage, we collect the following anonymous statistical data:
- Installation Identifier (GID): When the App is launched for the first time, a unique, anonymous identifier (GID) is created for statistical purposes. This identifier is used to measure the number of installations and is not linked to any personally identifiable information.
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous and aggregated data about the App’s usage. This includes statistics such as the number of App openings, screens viewed, and actions taken. We use this information solely to improve the App.
3. Permissions and Data Access
To provide its core functionality, the App requires certain permissions on your device. We use these permissions strictly for the purposes described below.
- Internet Access: We use the
android.permission.INTERNET
andandroid.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
permissions to check for and establish a network connection. This is necessary to download app files (APKs), their corresponding OBB data, and to check for App updates. - Storage Management: We use the
android.permission.MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
(“All files access”) permission to handle large app files and backups. This permission allows the App to save and delete downloaded app files, including OBB expansion files, as well as to create or restore backups. It is critical for the App to function as a file and app manager. - App Management:
android.permission.REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES
: This allows the App to initiate the installation of app files (APKs). The App will never install any software without your explicit confirmation via the system-provided installation dialog.android.permission.REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES
: This allows the App to trigger the standard system-level uninstallation dialog for apps you select. The App cannot and will not uninstall any software automatically.android.permission.QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES
: This allows the App to display a comprehensive list of all installed applications on your device, enabling you to manage them.
- Backward Compatibility:
android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
: This permission is included for backward compatibility on older Android devices, specifically those running Android 12 (API 32) and below. It allows the app to read downloaded APK and OBB files, as well as backup files, from external storage. On newer devices, this functionality is handled by other permissions like MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE.android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
: This permission is also for backward compatibility on very old Android devices, specifically those running Android 9 (API 28) and below. It is used to save downloaded app files and create backups to external storage. This permission has been replaced by more modern storage APIs on newer Android versions.
4. Data Handling and Security
All data processed by the App, including file information and app packages, is handled locally on your device. The statistical data (GID and Google Analytics) collected is anonymous, not linked to your identity, and not transmitted to third parties. Your files remain on your device and are never accessed for any purpose other than what is explicitly initiated by you through the App.
5. User Rights
You have the right to request access to the data we process and to request its correction, deletion, or restriction of processing. For our App, as your data is not collected or stored on our servers, you can exercise these rights by managing your files directly on your device and by uninstalling the App.
6. Children’s Privacy
Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
7. Third-Party Services
The App uses Google Analytics for statistical purposes. The use of this service is subject to Google’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Policy periodically for any changes.
9. Cookie Policy
The Universal Installer App does not use cookies for user tracking. However, for complete information on how our company uses cookies and other tracking technologies on its website, please refer to our Cookie Policy here.
