Privacy Policy for Lunona Family Reminder

Effective Date: March 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Smartago LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with your use of the Lunona Family Reminder mobile application (the “App”).

At Smartago, we prioritize user privacy in all our designs and operations. Lunona is designed as a family organizer and daily routine reminder to seamlessly connect Caregivers and Seniors. We apply strict privacy standards to ensure your family’s daily schedules, tasks, and communications remain secure and private.

1. Information We Collect

To provide the core functionality of connecting a Caregiver with a Senior, we collect minimal data:

  • Account & Registration Data: When you create an account, we collect basic profile information, such as your email address, name, and password. If you choose to register or log in using a third-party service (e.g., Google or Apple Sign-In), we collect the basic profile data provided by that service (such as your name and email address) to authenticate your account.
  • Routine & Task Data: Custom text entered by the Caregiver regarding daily family routines (e.g., reminder names, schedules, frequencies) and the Senior’s response to those alerts (e.g., whether a scheduled task was “completed,” “snoozed,” or “skipped”).
  • Technical Data & Analytics: Aggregated, anonymized information (e.g., crash logs, device model, OS version) to monitor app performance, manage active sessions, and improve our services. We use Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting. Crash data is anonymized and cannot be used to identify individual users. We do not track users across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not share this data with advertising networks.

2. Payment and Subscription Data

If you choose to purchase premium features or subscriptions, your payments are processed securely through third-party payment providers (such as Apple App Store, Google Play Billing, or Stripe via our website). We do not collect, process, or store your credit card numbers or banking details on our servers. We only receive basic transaction data, subscription status, and purchase tokens from these providers to unlock your Premium features. Your transactions are subject to the privacy policies of the respective payment processors.

3. How We Use and Protect Your Data

The App is designed with a “Privacy First” approach as a family productivity tool.

  • Purpose: Routine Data is used solely to trigger the correct local alarms on the Senior’s device and to notify the linked Caregiver of the task’s status.
  • No Third-Party Exploitation: We never sell, rent, or share your personal data, email, or family routines with data brokers, governments, or marketing agencies.
  • Secure Infrastructure: We use Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Cloud Messaging) to securely store and sync your routines in real-time between the Caregiver and Senior devices. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest according to Google Cloud’s enterprise security standards.
  • Data Retention: We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all personal data, linked profiles, and schedules are permanently and irreversibly removed from our active database within 30 days.

4. App Permissions Disclosure

To ensure Seniors never miss an important daily reminder, Lunona requires specific device permissions. We strictly use these permissions for the App’s core functionality only:

  • SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW (Display over other apps): Required for Android devices. We use this permission to wake the device screen and display a full-screen, highly visible reminder over the lock screen or other running apps. This ensures the Senior sees the alert immediately. We do not use this permission to track user behavior or display advertisements.
  • SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / NOTIFICATIONS: Required to program precise local alarms and deliver high-priority push notifications and full-screen alerts so the device rings at the exact time a routine is due, even if the App is closed. On iOS, we use Apple Push Notification service (APNs) to deliver time-sensitive alerts.
  • RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Required on Android to automatically reschedule all active reminders after a device restart, ensuring no scheduled routine is missed.
  • WAKE_LOCK: Required to temporarily prevent the device processor from sleeping at the moment a reminder is triggered, ensuring the alert is displayed reliably.
  • INTERNET: Required to securely sync routines between the Caregiver and the Senior and to send real-time status updates.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Your family’s daily routines and reminder data are private. This information is strictly shared only between the specific Caregiver account and the linked Senior account. We only share anonymized, non-identifiable technical data with infrastructure partners (such as Google Firebase and Crashlytics) solely to ensure the App runs reliably. We do not share any personal or identifiable data with any other third party.

6. Medical Disclaimer

Lunona is a family organizer and daily routine reminder designed to keep caregivers and seniors connected. It is not a medical device, nor is it intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. The App does not collect standard medical health records and should never be used as a substitute for professional medical advice or emergency services.

7. Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:

  • Access and correct your data directly through the App’s user interface.
  • Request the deletion of your account and all associated data. You can delete your account directly from within the App’s settings menu at any time. Upon deletion, all your linked profiles, email address, and schedules will be completely and permanently removed from our active database within 30 days.
  • Revoke permissions at any time through your device’s system settings (though this may prevent the App from functioning correctly).

To exercise your rights or request further assistance, contact us at info@smartago.net.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at info@smartago.net and we will promptly delete that information.

9. Updates to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our services or compliance with new regulations. We will notify users of significant updates through the App or other appropriate channels. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
