Downloader: Browser & Files – Privacy Policy
Effective Date: December 08, 2025

Smartago LLC (hereafter referred to as “Smartago“) is a software development company dedicated to creating innovative and secure applications. Our mission is to develop solutions that empower individuals and organizations while upholding the highest standards of privacy and security.

  1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how the “Downloader: Browser & Files” app (“the App”) collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our service. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a safe and transparent experience.
  2. Information We Collect
Our App is designed to be privacy-friendly. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) from your device to our servers. To ensure the App functions correctly as a Utility Tool, we handle data as follows:

Browser & Download Data:
When you use the built-in browser or downloader features, data such as browsing history, cache, cookies, and downloaded files are stored locally on your device. We do not track, log, or transmit the websites you visit, the URLs you enter, or the Shortcodes you use to our servers.

Installation Identifier (GID):
When the App is launched for the first time, a unique, anonymous identifier (GID) is created for statistical purposes. This identifier is used to measure the number of installations and is not linked to any personally identifiable information.

Google Analytics:
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous and aggregated data about the App’s usage. This includes statistics such as the number of App openings, screens viewed, and actions taken (e.g., successful downloads). We use this information solely to improve App stability and performance.

  1. Permissions and Data Access
To provide its core functionality—browsing, downloading, file management, and installing applications—the App requires certain permissions on your device. We use these permissions strictly for the purposes described below.

Internet Access:
We use the android.permission.INTERNET permission to allow the built-in browser to access the web, to resolve Shortcodes, and to download files, APKs, or Media from URLs provided by you.

Storage Management (Core Feature):
We use the android.permission.MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (“All files access”) permission.
Why is this needed? This App is a File Manager and Downloader. This permission allows the App to:

  • Save downloaded content (APKs, XAPKs, documents) to your device’s storage.
  • Manage files on connected USB drives (OTG Support).
  • Allow you to Cut, Copy, Paste, or Delete files through the App’s interface.
Without this permission, the App cannot function effectively as a file management utility.

App Management & Installation:
android.permission.REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES:
This is a core function of the Downloader. It allows the App to initiate the installation of app files (APK, XAPK, APKS, APKM) that you have downloaded via the browser or transferred via USB. The App will never install any software without your explicit confirmation via the system-provided installation dialog.

android.permission.REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES:
This allows the App to trigger the standard system-level uninstallation dialog for apps you choose to remove via the App Manager.

android.permission.QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES:
This allows the App to display a list of your currently installed applications. This is necessary for the “App Manager” feature, enabling you to view, backup, or uninstall apps directly from our interface.

Backward Compatibility (Legacy Devices):

  • android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Included for devices running Android 12 (API 32) and below to read downloaded files.
  • android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Included for devices running Android 9 (API 28) and below to save downloads to external storage.
  1. Data Handling and Security
All sensitive data processed by the App, including browsing sessions and downloaded files, is handled locally on your device. The statistical data (GID and Google Analytics) collected is anonymous and not linked to your identity. Your browsing history is private to your device and is not accessible by Smartago LLC.
  2. User Rights
You have the right to control your data. Since browsing history and files are stored locally, you can exercise your rights by clearing the App’s cache/data in your device settings, deleting specific files via the File Manager, or by uninstalling the App.
  3. Children’s Privacy
Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
  4. Third-Party Services
The App uses Google Analytics for statistical purposes. The use of this service is subject to Google’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. The App also allows browsing of third-party websites; we are not responsible for the privacy practices of websites you visit using the built-in browser.
  5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Policy periodically for any changes.
  6. Contact Us
